COT: Daytona

I had such a good run coming but someone got into a car in front of me and I had nowhere to go.

Ha me too LOL Got the Malachi crunch. I saw everyone start stacking up in front of me. I had to lift, and I look in my rearview to see everyone behind me start stacking up too now. I was in the middle of all if it. Got sandwiched as I tried to go high, but the car just continued on into the wall. No speed to keep up, and a looming stop and go for entering a closed pit, I bailed. These things happen, especially here.

Only 4 racers didnt DNF. I really think these cars suffer too much damage with the slightest kiss of the wall. I had a fun race while it lasted. I apologize to Nuno for bumping into him on the formation lap. I was getting the message that I was too slow and I was already close to him. My mistake though and I am sorry.
the other weird thing is getting a message during caution laps that I was in front of the person I had to follow when they were right there in front of me. I even had to serve a 10 secong stop and go for that!

These 2 concerns should be improved in the 2010 version. We are testing it and expect to implement it very soon.

That said, the new version is, like the real cars, a much bigger monster to drive. With that the attrition in non-points races may be similar.

Thank you everyone for this fun event, but I agree with Nabil Abusharr on the problem that these cars suffer too much damage, but we wait the new version 2010 and We see if the problems have been improved.
For our race (with my friend Enrico Bertani) in the final stint our cars were too slow to attack the podium position, and in the first yellow flag I done a stop/go because I was in a wrong position before the restart, but It wasn't the truth...

Was looking forward to a better time than the nationwide race. The start saw the pack get ahead a bit but i lifted a little to let my teammate adam and the group behind him catch up. We formed a decent train and were making some headway when about lap 1, someone at the tail of the lead pack smashed the wall. It looked like he was going to stay in the middle of the track and at these speeds you have to make split decisions. Decided to go low and the train followed, but the wrecker slowly drifted to the bottom just in time for me to have some life ending contact. Unfortunately everyone else behind went down too. Spectacular wreck even if it did end my race early. I'll chalk this one up to the experience board :D

dont have the mod but in general if you ding, much less dent, your car at a plate track, it should be significantly off the pace. at those speeds, a ding can happen pretty easy. in other words, sounds like VHR's damage is perhaps the way it should be.

That was how i saw it Nathan,When he drifted down i thought WOW I'm going to get through! lol,When you hit him very hard he flew right back up the track and he was right in my windshield! These were hard hits,Nobody's fault,Just racing. But that was the end of mine. Maybe next time will be better.
