VHR: Talladega 200

What a disaster. I qualified in the mid field at 16th. right in the danger zone. Sure enough three laps in and there was a crash further up the field. I was left with no where to go and incurred severe damage.I reckon the damage to my suspension must have been to severe to be fully repaired on my pitstop. After a 229second pitstop I eventually rejoined only to find I was well of the pace and my car was incredibly tight coming of the corners. I went into the wall coming off turn four. After that the car was undrivable and I had no option but to retire.

First I need to thank Tim L for his set-up help, w/o it I was nowhere and a click away from not racing, as I will not show up un-prepared to run w/ the best. My adjustments led to the car being driven on any line, High, Low, it didn't matter even in the daft, it was perfect.

Qualy...I took what it delivered.

Race, sometimes lady luck shines on you, today was my day, I progressively moved up thru the field, using veteran stock car drivers to lead the way as I pushed, I knew in practice who to stay away from as some thought it was a short track race and didn't bother running in the draft, and their unstable car showed it.

By lap 50 I was running a solid 3rd, w/ a good un-dinged car to run to the front, then after all the luck was tapped out, on the green lap following the caution, a lapped car pressed his position and I being on the outside line he drove me into the wall after T4 taking on heavy damage, I limped all the way around the track to the pits @ 37 MPH watching my tire indicator glowing at 620 degrees and the wear indicator changing like a Timex watch. Then, wouldn't you know it...a yellow comes out as I am on the backstretch saving me from going many laps down, I hit my pit stall w/ no cubes left on the tire indicator...Whoa! I then Worked my way back up the order and the use of the Lucky Dog and brought it home a satisfying 5th.

I fought serious lag all race long, it was a challenge, but staying calm and focused was the difference from finishing or placing your car on the hauler.

Kuddos to the admins, you guys did a heck of a job staying on top of the rFactor oval hiccups, this Samuel Adams is for you!

Qualifying didn't go as planned but it was a top five position start.

The race was one filled with cautions and you had to have a lot of luck to avoid the wrecks. I only got a little damage with the first wreck of the race on the back side of my car which didn't slow me down.

Great qually, was second, at the start with my fellow Brazilians could take the lead.
My car was great and the strategy set, my connection dropped. I was angry.
