VHR: Charlotte 200

Qualifying went well, got the outside pole.

The race was going ok until a car lost control going to the pits and he didn't slow down enough going into 3 on the apron and lost it, slid up the track in front of me and everything would have been ok with the nose damage until someone plowed into me from behind flattening both rear tires. My day was over.

it'a absolute imposible to drive for me in this series, in 2 races i made 7 laps :))

Too bad so many good cars were taken out early. I felt pretty good about starting 26th and (with patience and a bit of luck) making it to 3rd. Until a couple of lap cars got together on a restart and took me out. That's 3 in a row that I've been caught in someone elses' mess. What's the point?

Streaks of bad luck happen Bill. I have been wrecked in the trucks on Tuesday from 2nd, punted out of the lead in the ARCA race on Thursday, and caught up in same wreck as you in this one. Just have to remember there will always be another race coming up, even though it is hard to do.

well, after 2 wrecks, a drive thru, and a stop-n-go, i'll take 3rd anyday.

Well to start off i really didn't get practise with these cars, setup was stable though. After a crappy qualify what was expected anyway, my plan was to take it easy and pick up a few positions along the way if possible. My race ended in the turn one pile up on lap 1 (damaged engine). These guys who are at the back are way too aggressive on race start. After i parked it i spent some time looking on at the race...what a sad thing to look at lol! I think from now on if i'm unlikely to pull off a top 10 in qual i'll just sit out the race. Its too much chaos starting in the back.

the best way to start a race from the back is just make sure you're last or know who's behind you if you're not dead last. then just sit back and ride til the cars ahead wreck, which 9 times of 10, they will. I would however like to send a sorry to Andrew Peeler for that lil caution accident. You goosed it and pulled in front of me so i started down to the bottom lane to get in line and no sooner than i started turning down you hit the brakes and I had no reaction time. i was making the turn down at the speed i judged from when u goosed it ahead, and wasnt expecting u to lock up the brakes.

I would say Chuck put it very well in a post in the chapter. I'll quote "There's nothing significantly wrong with the VHR mod gentlemen (we've played this enough to know that it is not perfect and we should, by now, be aware of it's quirks). What is wrong is the way that many people drive and/or set up their cars. Carelessness abounds. I race in two full length race leagues per week with over 36 starters in each and we will run those races with 4-6 cautions typical and more than 2 dozen will be around at the finish. What is the difference? Those guys PRACTICE, and they set up cars that are DRIVEABLE first, with speed being a secondary concern. You must first have a stable car or you will be a menace on the track. Stop complaining about the mod, take some personal responsibility, and improve your driving and setups. A slow, but completely controllable car (that means you can run both high and low lines comfortably) will usually be around at the finish."

I practiced and had the car handling good. wreck on first lap gave me some damage, but nothing too bad. 2nd caution screwed up my race, my car didnt handle right after that

Went into this race with the attitude to just take it easy for the first half of the race and take it from there. Started 27th,by the end of the first lap was in 19/20th(I think)because of big wreck. From there I just put it in cruise mode and tried to avoid other people's mistakes. Had 2 drive thru penalties and a stop and go. Was a pretty uneventful race other than someone trying to wreck me under caution (said I was supposed to be behind one driver on the inside line, went there, apparently the other driver didn't think I should be there and tried to wreck me)(got into me 3 or 4 different times under caution). If more people would learn to take it easy at the beginning of a race, let the race unfold a little bit, and then race to the finish, I think alot more people would be finishing these races or at least running for alot longer. Its not about how fast you can get to front, but where you finish at the end of the race. These races are very long and there is plenty of time to pass anyone on the track as long as you have a car that can finish the race. Take care of your equipment, and don't put yourself in a position which you might not be able to get out of SAFELY. Look forward to running more races with everyone of you guys. There is nothing wrong with this mod! Only a bunch of new drivers with no patience or practice. Just remember, people races others as others race them. BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR FELLOW DRIVERS AND WE WILL THEN RETURN THE FAVOR. Congrats on your win Larry. See you guys next week. And just to let you know, I ended up 7th(6laps down). Only 3 drivers on lead lap. WOW!
