VHR: Kansas 150

Sorry guys, I got called into work early in the morning and was told I would only be there for an hour. I had to stay a few hours and was not able to unregister.

I had pretty good race but about 13laps to go i hit the wall and my tire blew.
I still finished in top10

Was fast and I knew I would be a top 5 contender. Got an alright qualifying run and ran my own race.

The usual happened with a majority (sadly) of the field weeding itself out via wrecks.

I found myself running very competitive times and doing the usual cycle of pitting and working my way back to the front.

But under a caution where Soco flat wrecked Fernando and I believe a few others, I began to slow down when he got me too.

I very gently limped it back to the pits and luckily didn't lose a lap. But I was no longer a contender.

I had to adjust much on my car to get it into the top 5 and once there I had some great battles with Fernando, Eric, and Chris.

Overall, however, it was a good race, that had potential to be great for me.

What a race!!!From 16th in the qualif. to 1st at 2 times in the race, behind SC, rolling almost all race in 7th, 8th place, everything was running perfect. Then at lap 96, 7 to go, and by MY fault, a collision into the wall, and all that wonderfull race finished with a great crash with a back car, when i was pretending to pit in. Congrats to Mark, Chris and Tom, and why not, to all this great bunch of racers who participate in this series.

about 500 laps of practice for what ?
i lost control of the car in first corner and a wheel gone wild and break.
anyway i made a nice race (corner) =))
congrat to the winner.

Had a pretty good car.

First third of the race was very uneventful for me without any contacts. After that another green flag while i was impatient and the field not flowing made contact and damaged the car putting me back.

A few laps later I made two bad corners first touching the wall and second got too good grip going to the inside. Unfortunatelly there was Taboas already. Colision sent me to the wall ruining the rest of the race for me. From there on was just a daisy drive. Another colision was under yellow where Guzman surprised me when he had stopped in the middle of the road while I was cruising I had no handling on the car to avoid the colision from the earlier contact with Taboas.

Could been more fun to race but maybe next time.

Well i started off really bad, i earned a stop & Go penalty upon crossing the start line, apparantly i passed someone before i crossed the line :S .Way too much yellow flags for my liking. I got so bored after a while that i was just in it to finish the race. I really don't know what happened those last few laps, by the end of the final yellow of the race i was in 12th. I figured i had about 2 to 3 laps to go so my strategy was to take one a lap, the race ended on that same lap...what a bummer.

First off....Congrates Mark on a hard fought win,,,too Chris on a solid second and Tom on a some what surprising third.
Now for my rant....
Fellas and I do mean all of us,but more for the newer drivers to VHR.Please PLEASE do not show up and think I can just drive with out being prepared.The only way too prepare yourself and your set-up is to practice on line.When you do practice on line you will get the benefit of those who race all the time.Watch them and ask questions and for help.When you are not prepared your race will end early...but the bigger problem is you will end others as well.The whole Idea racing here is too have fun and Not too win at all costs.It is no fun to have your race ended by someone who has about 1 hour or less of practice too your hours and hours.....something too think about.

i hear ya Ron. the beginning to my end was sort of caused by me personally doing a slide job across fernando's front bumper, but I went to the pits, got it fixed, and came back out ready to roll with very little damage. At that point i was a lil mad at myself and kinda stormed toward front again and upon reaching another car, i tried to move high around and he went high, then when i went low, so did he and BAM! now the car is really screwed.

POINT HERE..
1. Be patient
2. Don't change lanes when a faster car is approaching
3. If you are the faster car, never go high.

but yeah, from that point on it was stop-n-go 3 freaking times which i still dont understand, but hey being 6 laps down and still being top 10 at end. i dont know whether i should feel good or bad about that. depends on how u look at i guess.
