ISCC: Spa 2 hours

Congrats to Charles Hodges for 1st in class. A tough battle fought out amongst a startling field of two. I began the race with a one stop strategy but by 45mins my tyres were getting dangerous. I decided another 15mins on them would probably end my race so I cautiously changed to a 2 stop. Normally i'm quite easy on tyres but this Mosler chewed them up.

My about face in front of Charles at the bus stop must have given him some amusement and delight. Then when I pitted early from about 10s behind him i'm sure he knew he had it in the bag.

A very lonely race, as I'm sure everyone found. What a bummer there weren't more entries. Maybe next round will be more popular. There's no reason why this shouldn't be an amazing series.

Bring back ILMS Charles! :)

Next time I should maybe check out the respective cars fuel capacities before I choose one....doh,what a dumbo mistake.

I psyched myself out with the setup and went the wrong way for the race. I just had enough to keep up with Steve and Barry the first stint. I had an awesome battle with Steve the first stint. Very nice driving Steve, it was a pleasure to battle with you. Later, Steve and Barry had a contretemp and I took advantage and snagged the lead while they sorted themselves out.

I held the lead through the pit stops and spun trying to miss Charles as he was spinning. From there, I hung onto to Barry until about 10mins on the clock when I threw is off the track setting up my XD for my final pit. In the end I didn't need it as Spa has the weird time/lap thing of which I don't understand.

I think in the future the races should be 15mins longer to even out the GT1 field. The fuel economy is out of proportion with the big edge going to th S7R's. I almost took the MC12 here as it would have been competitive time wise, but didn't as I was looking at a 2 stopper min.

The time / lap thing threw me too. I finished with 20L of fuel on board which cost me time to uplift in the pits and of course extra weight. I also would have stuck to my original one stop strategy if I knew the finish would be that much earlier. Maybe then I could have given Charlie a bit more of a hurry up instead of an easy scenic Sunday drive :)

in this race time/lap bug didn't affect me, but if anyone knows how to predict this bug, please spread it!

As Garret says, next races should be xx mins longer or shorter to give all gt1 cars the same fuel strategy opportunities.

Fun race despite the low turnout. The little Vertigo was nimble in the twisties, but Roger would just roar by in the long straight after Eau Rouge.

Forgot about the time vs. lap deal with GTR 2 default tracks, but it didn't affect my 1-stop strategy. The next 2 races will be the full 2 hours, that I can promise.

The cars are fun, offer a little variety, nice eye candy, and great sounds. There's nothing wrong with the cars. It is still the GTR 2 physics engine. I guess the low turnout can be attributed to a mix of: supporting members only, non-ranking? and a non-points series.

Onto to Laguna Seca!

Charles, the point with the GT1's is that the S7R is the only GT1 car that will make the 2hr's with one stop. As it is, it happens to be the fastest as well. All of the other GT1 cars will make 2 stops in 2 hours.

The only cars close in fuel consumption are the Lambo and C6R. They both would still have to make 2 stops in a 2 hour race. These two cars are well off the pace of the S7R. The Lambo is about 3s/lap slower at Spa and the C6R about 2s/lap.

Stretching the time 15 mins will assure that even the S7R will have to make 2 stops.

Sure, I'm down for that. Will make the change for the next race and beyond.

Garret's suggestion sounds sensible. We can't have a grid full of S7's. I'll probably drive the C6 at Laguna (unless I make a last minute change again, with so few signups anything is possible). That C6 sounds unreal though. I don't really care where I finish, i'll simply be enjoying a 2h+ symphony of fuel burning pleasure.

If I understand the series scoring correctly, to win the subscription prize you need to:
A) win a race in all three classes or
B) win all three races in the same class

So, if like me you didn't win at Spa, from now on it's just a fun-run. But it will be fun!
