Great race all, congrats podium!

I was tense and working hard the whole race, chasing or being chased by Les and Mike E pretty much the entire time. I should have worked the pits harder- I was cautious with the pit speed, and got dusted by Barrett at least, and maybe somebody else as well. I was quite surprised to come back out in 7th and not pick up any more spots, even after not taking tires.

T1 at speed is one scary place, that was the only spot I made mistakes tonight; 2 of them were white-knucklers just praying I'd survive; I did survive with a slight glance off the wall, but gave Les an easy pass both times.

On to Interlagos, definitely another interesting matchup coming up...

Note to self: Tricky Barrett-like pit strategies only work when you cut the engine.....

Grats to the podium - Miguel was untouchable, Mike was awesome, and Barrett was fast and tricky.

What sort of tricky strategies is he employing? I never run close enough to observe him.

I had a bad start game kept shuttering lag type thing. got a stop and go right off the bat.

went into the pits for my pitstop and must have hit the wrong button. Lost my HUD. I had no clue as to my speed.

I followed the advice of holding my line and got Tagged in the rear by the, at the time race leader, and messed up my suspension. That is why I DNF.

Re Barrett: Last two race he's only taken on fuel - no tires.

Had a decent enough race, considering I hadn't done a bit of testing or practice til joining the server tonight. Was managing fairly consistent 131-132 in practice with my Kyalami setup. Was a perfect match, except for fuel load, and I hardened up the front tires for durability. I qualified P10, got a decent launch and stayed top-10 all race. Didn't have any real drama, apart from a self spin in the late stages (usual brain fade), but my gap to the next position behind was the better part of a minute so I didn't lose anything. I wasn't in a position to gain on the position ahead either, so it really only burned a little extra gas getting turned around in the dirt. I actually spent a late lap or two in fuel-conserve mode for fear of cutting it too close. Getting lapped by P1 with just a couple to go eased my fuel demand and I made it with 1.1 laps of fuel remaining (would have been just 0.1 had I not been lapped... too close for my comfort. Have to build in a better margin in the future).

All in all, a respectable result given my lack of prep time. Good racing as always. Looking forward to the next one.

EDIT - Re: Tricksy Barret. Gotcha. I do the same thing. These Lotii barely even sit on their tires. =)

Holy smokes! Barrett's pit lap was under 2 minutes... mine was 2:48!

well, i tried...Mike Miller and me were on track and there was alot of jitters and lagging going on. Oh well...
have to see...why again.

ARRRGGGHHHHH Another pit strategy gone to ... insert 4 letter word there...
Qual'd 6th. Start of race I picked up a few spots and was comfortably in 3rd or 4th. Was gonna plan on a stop and splash around lap 15. Lap 14 I took a little tank slapper into t1 and took a wild ride. Went from 4th to 8th while getting back on track. Decided to stay out instead of pit. Went into the pits in 3rd with Miguel breathing down my neck around lap 23. Pull into pits, cycle thru options and forget to uncheck fix damage....an enternity later, I came out of pits in 11th. All I wanted to do was put in 10 gal of fuel..... A few laps later I tapped Ray in the arse and did a s/g. One of these damn races, I'm gonna keep this Shelby pointed forward and hit my marks in the pit....

Well this was a case of a second place car piloted by a tenth place driver equals 4th. Couldn't see the starting lights so I had to wait for the clock to tell me to move it. Settled into third and knew I could catch Mike and did soon enough. The car got really squirrely coming out of T1 and off I went and lost 35 seconds in the sand letting everyone by - even the easy to get out of sand stalled my engine...I had two other 3 second bobbles along the way and knew I would not catch Barrett or Mike. This car is such a kick to drive I just seem to have a hiccup every race that bites me - concentration just isn't what it needs to be, I just need to run more races and regain the mental edge(I hope). Three incidentws throughout 1) a love tap in the rump on Lap 1 but didn't have any harm, Ed Werther(sp?) and I got tangled on Lap 10 when he got off line through the sharp right at the end of the twisties and moved in front and I had to go inside to not plow him. I was inside into the next corner and I am not sure if I was far enough up to take the spot = Mike you may need to look at this to see if I was wrong, and then I may have slowed a bit much in the last turn and Bryce couldn't slow quickly enough and tapped me but didn't cause any problems. Everyone should drive this car for a few races - it is an absolute pleasure to work around a track - and the variety of tracks this season has testd all aspects of the car....
