Such a disappointment. :( Had really stable and fast car, but my race was almost literally over before it started. PC crashed when server advanced, I had to do hard reset. Joined back up in the last second, so instead of starting 5th I had to start dead last, 35th. Awesome qualifying run I had with setting a lap record was all for nothing.

Then in race I got collected, I have no idea how either, was innocent bystander. After that, even repaired, car wasn't behaving good... That was it, race done.

I was running good top 10 until Chris Melton got over zealous early went inside got took me out. I went up into wall. i mean really WTF were you thinking? then would'nt let me pit so I goes around... this effectively killed my race....

I kept going had acouple other incidents.. Omar just bangs into me on a restart as I'm beside him and then I got taken out again by an over zealous driver later on resulting in more damage No Yellow either....

not sure how I finished but I did.

It's a cryin' shame Mr DiPino. We were moving up when the wreck in T2 got us. Luckily I was able to get repaired (166 seconds! And I can't believe I kept the motor running, was on the clutch pedal real fast), but then I had to deal with a very distracting thing. My right front tire was just there, with no suspension visibly attached to it. Could not manage to get any speed out of the car after that, although some adjusting in the pits made it more comfy. Sorry to see my teammates Mike Miller and Bryce Aston not finish. Thanks to Mike for a great race setup. I was very good in the prerace practice, and had high hopes, but with so many wrecks to dodge, it just wasnt in the cards. I may have been many laps down, but I was going to finish any way I could. Hope I gave everyone enough of room. Someone else wrecked me, so I refused to bail and you guys were just going to have to deal with me :) Then during one of the yellow laps, Im behind the person the game is telling me to be behind. 2 drivers come up alongside and force their way in front of me. Then the game docks me a lap for driving too slow. That one pissed me off and better get fixxed. Thanks to whoever it was that couldnt follow directions. Then Dave Fridley gets into me in the last few hundred feet and sends me into a huge barrel roll. Should have seen that shit from the cockpit LOL At least I made it over the line. Grats to Conor on the win!

First, thank you to R2P for a superb event. The whole month of May has been a sim racer's dream and you are a credit to the community for what you achieved with the organisation and the broadcast.

I knew that I would struggle in qualifying. I did last year and I did this year. The grid as a whole was insanely close and everyone who qualified did a superb job. The guys who didn't qualify have nothing to be ashamed of either, it was litterally thousandths seperating many drivers.

I knew I had a race car with enough pace to be capable of winning. Unfortunately, I hit the wall when I got caught out by a checking up Chris Melton. My car picked up damage and lost straight-line speed. During the week I had had no trouble pulling away from packs of cars, indeed, my race depended on it.

My race ended with a silly 50-50 accident with Omar. I should have given more room, he should have lifted. The car made it back to the pits, but all straight-line speed was gone and I had to lift right off in the corners. I would have been a hazard so I parked it.

Congratulations to Conor and to my boys in blue: Zak and Nick. Bloody typical, they were able to make better use of my setup than I did! Very impressive LOOOOOONG last run at the end!

Now, I hate to bring a negative vibe so early in the post race thread, but I was really disappointed by many drivers out there today. I saw drivers racing to the line on cautions. Deliberately overtaking before the line on restarts, I saw divebomb moves into T1 after restarts. I was appaled at how do-or-die people were being before we'd even reached half-way. It was partly this attitude that lead me to have an accident that ruined my race. In the end, I got fed up of driving with my head and getting kicked around for the benefit.

EDIT: All of the above were mentioned in the pre-race notes and various threads. There were also people asking lots of questions that had been answered elsewhere before this weekend. This is beginning to become a bit of a theme at R2P and I emplore everyone to use their brain and read it ALL.

Tim and Todd, thanks for putting this together. The overall experience was extremely real and mentally very taxing. Just like it should have been!

I too got punted on a caution lap and lost my rear wing. This put me in the pits for something I didn't have a thing to do with and at first I was furious, but something odd happened on the way into the pits. The whole experience became very very REAL. I've had the same stupid things happen to me racing in real life and I've also been the one to have a momentary brain fart and commit blatant stupiditis.

Should those that were passing before the start finish line and acting the fool on lap 3 have tightened up or been tightened up by the stewards? Yep they should have. Was anything that happened out there today any different than what will happened tomorrow at Indy? Probably not!

When I lost the wing I had a brief moment of all is lost, followed by an overwhelming realization that just like the real thing if I keep my head straight and get to the business of racing instead of being so upset with the situation, I could make something out of it. I know racing gets the blood boiling and honestly that's probably one of the biggest reasons we all love it so much. For me the best thing racing has ever done is show me my competitors and my own true character under pressure.

I enjoyed sharing the track with everyone today and I look forward to the next time we get to race.

Did'nt know about the no pass on restarts. the spotter says green go go go so I go.

and there was no warnong or penalty or any message so I figures it's all good. I made acouple gains on restarts but none were dangerous.

The point is, you shouldn't have done. Had you of properly read the pre-race notes etc you would know that. You're not alone, I am by no means singling you out and I'm not saying you're a baddun for doing it mate. I'm saying it's dangerous because it means that some guys (like me) are being careful and some are going for it. The number of times I had to bang down the gears to avoid hitting someone affected ahead was tiresome to say the least.

Dont hash it out here guys. That's what the protest system is for. I imagine a few protests will be filed after this one.

Yes, please use protest procedure for those that were violating the rules laid out in the pre-race notes. They WILL remember to READ the rules before their next race

About 25 hours of prep for this one.

Was collected in the first crash. Fix damage, not to bad.

2nd caution. Catch the field. Get rearended. Bend the right rear and took off the wing.

Got pasted before the S/F line on restarts by at least 10 drivers.

I will be filing protest reports.

After falling back to 32nd. I did ok.

If I didn't love this event so much, I would say what's the
point. But, I'll be back to try again next year.

Drive safely in the real world, please.
