Intense racing!

Started 6th not knowing how this race was going to go. THe start was great. I took a nice pace behind the predator boys, who seemed like they were content on where they are.

Deciding to pace myself behind them, Heinz lost it in the Mcdonolds chicane leaving Darren by himself. I wanted to stay close as possible and had a plan to pit at half way with no tire change.

Came out just as Heinz came into turn 1. I could stay close but I couldnt get to the point of passing at all. Looked like a hard ride in those RS cars so I hoped to take advantage of that.

The last few laps had a crazy battle with Greg, Frantisek, Heinz and myself. With the tires going bye bye, Greg and Frantisek looked faster so I didnt put up much of a fight until I saw Heinz holding on for dear life.

I decided to take advantage of that and keep a close watch. Those guys were all over each other with me going by both again. Traded some paint and we were all over each other again. Not sure what happened to Greg.

With 5 minutes to go my LF was worn to 36.87, not sure were the point of a blow out was and seeing the rest of the field 40 secs behind I coast home to a worn out 4th place.

I realize I would have had a better run if I took mediums in the front instead of Softs.

I cant wait to watch the replay! Some hard racing there.

Great job Predators on a podium finish and congrats to Pablo on the championship.

Well ... 2nd night in a row, Same position almost with points situation. darren 2 points away from me in championshop and 3rd overall.

Darren brought alot more to the table again tonight, while i was left just barely with anything until Gregg saved me with a setup, thanks dude.

I qualified in 5th while darren was on front row and expected a difficult race. Start went well, i made one place to someone going off, and darren dropped to 3rd behind gregg. For a while we were neck and neck and also having to deal with Aaron in a slightly more powerful GTC on my rear .. and if the race was to finish with darren ahead of me, would tie for 2nd so was desperate not to let Aaron through.... then a bomb dropped and it turned into one of the most desperate battles of my career ( and this is just for 1 up on my team mate in the championship ahaha )

I lost my car in that stupid chicane and had to drive very hard not to loose any more time to Aaron who was putting pressure on darren for the rest of stint 1

Aaron came in first, and before i came in checked the time difference for benchmarks for every other stop. I was able to come out ahead of aaron with a 46s gap not taking any tyres, just fuel, so i knew darren was too far ahead for me to jump, after gregg short fueled and frantisek put on fresh tyres, he came out infront and i was in 2nd

This left a 2nd stint of hell for me, darren was in the clear, and i was in 2nd with a train of faster drivers now behind me.

Frantisek got passed Aaron, and this left gregg and frantisek behind me ... i looked in the mirror watching them itching to get passed, i was comparing it to a pack of wild dogs chasing me trying to rip the flesh off my legs, i was under so much pressure.

With 10 mins to go, i decided to let frantisek passed as my only available option was for him to catch darren and pass him to put us yet again on equal points. But when i opened the door, frantisek messed it up, locked up and crashed into my side panels putting him off the track, this totally blew my plan and was left to wait for him to make the 6 second gap again and then hound me in the death ... well, it was inevitable with darren 10 seconds up the road chilling out all smug listening to me having a heart attack on TS, Frantisek got passed me on the final lap half way round .. i was gutted .. but the drama, lol .. intense!

Good racing frantisek, this is what i meant in post race by being upset, nothing to do with the bump on me, just the bump to 3rd in the championship with you getting between darren and myself :P

In all fairness, Grats to darren on pulling it off in style and another APR championship in the bag! hats off bud!

I was hardly chilling out! My quali lap was a bit of a freak, much faster than I'd done pre race, but I knew I'd be under alot of pressure from behind in the race. First Heinz was all over me, and Aaron was adding to the pressure to keep up the pace. Then Aaron slowly reeled me in until he stopped, Heinz had made a mistake and I knew he'd be desperately trying to get the gap back to just one position between us. My stop went well but I was still thinking 2nd at best with Frantisek way up the road. Then I passed him in the pits, realised he'd taken tyres and thought I now had a chance. He got caught up fighting with Heinz, Gregg and Aaron and that gave me the breathing space I needed.
Another close one Heinz, always great racing with you and against you.
