Vintage GT

Had everything dialed in at this track. Figures!!!!! Qual in top 5. HAd a decent start and started chasing the usual guys down. Ray, MM, Barrett and Miquel. A little bobble by Ray sent him off into scrub land and soon after a dnf? MM and I chased Miquel for the next 12 laps or so. Swapping postions. Barrett would pass or get on out tail till the straight then we would lose him till the straight again. Went to pits around lap 14. Missed the pit entrance and pulled in anyways. Crew was there again but did not work on the car. Was pissed so I quit. HAd the car tonight and the mental ability tonight to win. Arrggghhh Need to practice my pits. Redundant man, redundant

I was doing better than I usally do. I actually raced Jim for quite a few laps. I wasn't lapped until somewhere around lap 22. I was driving along and the pit sign came on in my car, around lap 18, where I planned to pit. So I pulled in and I had no pit crew thought I overshot. WRONG!

I tried again next lap. Crew was there. No action left the pits tried the next lap. no dice. Tires where horrid at that point. When I was getting lapped and had a few off road site seeing tours.
Then the plan was to run "the slug" = Shelby Roaster, out of fuel or to the last lap before running out.
Fuel, by the way was WAY OFF!
Went into the pits Still didn't work. I called it a night.

You weren't alone Bryce!

Race day kind of snuck up on me but I thought I was comfortable on the track after practicing Saturday morning. I switch from Vista (where I get a video driver error during every race) back to XP for racing. Unfortunately I hadn't fired XP up until showing up for the race and started getting update requests etc. I Q'd much better than anticipated and thought hey this is cool. Then the car felt like it was sliding all over the place once the race started. Control response wasn't sharp in the least. I went wide and jumped back in front of Bryce(?) on L1, had another problem on lap two and then braked on time (by previous full fuel tests) and slid off heading into T1 alongside Jim. A split second decision to then floor the Vette and conserve brake pads sent me into the fence at the perimeter of the track. Once I signed off I noticed I had a virus scan running which clearly bogged down the computer. End of race and downstairs to a relaxing evening.
