Van Der Geest wrestled the advantage back and forth with Benedict Burlington in a lengthy and determined battle for the race lead from the middle stages, running within car lengths of each other over a range of 24 laps. Van Der Geest spent the majority pursuing Burlington after catching him on the first lap. Van Der Geest cleared Burlington for the second time and into first place when Burlington retired on lap 24, and controlled it the final 22 laps to the conclusion.

The ES_P2 class championship was clinched this final round by Van Der Geest with his winning run. Van Der Geest took the win in three of his seven starts, leading 218 of 413 laps total.

such a shame... my pc suddenly begun hyperventilating and the framerate just dropped like a stone...

First of all I want to wish you all a very happy newyear and I really hope all of you will have a year filled with happiness and joy either with your family or your friends or your hobby's, all I hope is that you're all happy this year.

The only thing I want to say is thank you, thank you for the beautiful memories with whom I now leave this site... this could well have been my last simrace because of my horses who take up so much time... but with all my heart I really hope that I will see you all again in the future...

well all that remains for me to say is thank you all...

Goodbye

First, congratulations to everyone on the podiums and then to all that finished the race!

Great race, lots of clean work out there. My pace was nothing to speak of however managed to keep it pretty consistent and on the track. One bad moment when I tapped Tobias M at T1, my fault and waited for him, but in the interval, another GT2 was through. They disappeared ahead of me (OK, I have spoken of my pace now), but I disappointed myself; apologies again Tobias.

In all however, a decent 5th in class if I read it correctly and a race in which I saw many familiar and even !legendary! names on track, mostly passing me :)

Thanks to you all, and R2P. I shall miss the site, but hopefully will see many of you again somewhere else in the sim-racing-sphere.

Matthew

First about the race:

I just don't get it,this track.Every lap you do somenthing wrong, then, the other lap, you try make up and there's another new mistake...Frustanting!
I didn't expect to win, because Telasio,Anstey and Geddes had more pace. With the first two out of contention early, was beetween Matt and I. We were close, but I made two mistakes in two laps, which leave him 15 sec on the lead. Towards the end, before the pits,I don't know how,we got together again. I pit first(not a advantage),but somehow got back in front of him. Lucky me!

Now "The Place":

Thank you Race2Play for all this years, what a nice ambient to race!Thank you all who I raced with !Special thanks to my former teamates Mike dos Santos(who let me race when I was just I dnf guy),Marcos Junior(who teach me a few things about setup),and Fahn Thomas(nicest and fastest guy I ever seen)and John VdG(for the GEAR league).

And all of you that I didn't mention thank you too !Happy New Year!!!

Until one day...!

Grats to podium and all finishers.

I think everyone suffered the server hiccup, when that happened, I though my Windows had decided to shove off, I lifted a lot and rode it out... surprised I wasn't discoed but when I saw the chat box listing the less fortunate... I felt for you guys.

As for my race, I think I had 3 previous start at COTA... never finished. I had only one mission; to finish. In the standings, Tobias was too close for comfort, so if I finished, I had a good chance of keeping my third position.

So right after the first racing lap, I dropped the Boost and did my best to keep it off the walls. I had a few 4 wheels off but all of them under control. I spun twice, once when passing a limping Jason all the while trying to stay out of the way of a closing P1. The second time, out braking myself at corner one.

So up to the last lap, all my car's corners were still white. Then, on the last lap, I got rear ended by a blue P1/P2 while braking for the first hairpin... Tha H...???

My stop was quick splash and I DID FINISHED! Yé!

I'm going to run the MNRL series at CMS.

Cya all at the races.
