17 Sep 2016 — Making his 10th start in the Holden, Gerardo Doglioli drove to a third-place finish in the Homebush V8SC in Round 5 of the V8 Supercars [SemiPro] series.
Fodor Tamas led every lap from first-place start to first-place finish.
Doglioli swapped leads with Gilles Lalonde in a long and persistent battle for second starting early on, running within a turn of each other over a range of 30 laps. Doglioli ran the majority leading Lalonde after challenging and passing him on the fifth lap. Driving the Holden, Doglioli fended off an extended attack by Lalonde early in the running, staying just car lengths ahead of him over a solid run of 24 laps. In the end Doglioli lost the spot on lap 29 and settled into third the couple laps running to the finish.
Doglioli moves up to second in the standings, eight points behind Juan M Bento. Doglioli has four starts and led one of his 117 laps while finishing as high as third.
Tamas spent all of six laps total leading Gilles Lalonde after being caught by him on the first lap. Tamas controlled the race lead every lap from start to win.
Tamas is 15th in the standings for the series. He has one start and led 30 of his 30 laps raced while taking the win once.
In the 10 career runs taken by Doglioli in the Holden, he has led one laps in all and finished as high as third three times.
Gilles Lalonde won second place.
V8 Supercars [SemiPro] series moves on to Round 6 in two weeks at Pukekohe. The series has 23 drivers competing for points in the championship.

Lalonde ran the majority pursuing Doglioli after being engaged and passed by him on the fifth lap. Driving the Holden, Lalonde launched an extended attack at Doglioli in the early stages, staying within car lengths behind him and keeping pace over a solid run of 24 laps. Lalonde cleared Doglioli and into second place on lap 29, and kept it the remaining lap to the finish.
Lalonde moves up to fifth in the standings, 108 points behind Luis Galvez H. Lalonde has two starts and finished as high as second.
