I got all the files saved according to the guide but it doesn't show up in the online version of GTR EVO.. when I load the offline version I see my name and it says a custom team but only shows the windows in the right colours.

Any help?

At about 2 am last night I got the skin working in the offline version, but the online still doesn't want to pick up on the new skin.

I read somewhere on the internet just a few minutes ago you need to place the custom skins in a different folder under you "my documents" folder. Is that true and could that be my problem in testing it out?

I have to install my skins in this folder: "D:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Mis documentos\SimBin\RACE 07 Install 2"

Search a similar path in your documents folder. I had the same problem as you and spent a lot of time on finding that folder LOL.

Thanks Pablo for your reply, I will try that tonight and if I like the colours I will e-mail you my team folder.

Isn't there an easier way to view the cars then to upload them into the game??

O yeah I just thought of a new question, how can I get the country flag into my name and team?? Not it is stated as the default blue object, but I can't find any TGA files which contains the country flags.

I don't think there's a carviewer or something like that...

How to put the flags in the game is explained in the skins guide. I didn't find them in the game folders to copy them.

Yeah they mention the text line you need to put in the .ini file. But the way I read it is that there needs to be a .tga file for the flag.

O well maybe I'll find something tonight.

[EDIT]I think I need to search better.. just found a link at no-grip for the flags :S silly me.

I did a google search and it seems you can download the x-files for Race07 & GTREvo to use with carview here:

GTR2, RACE07 & GTR Evo xfiles

This should be enough to check your painting without having to load the game everytime.
