Open Wheel Challenge 2008 DevBlog
Jul 22, 2008

This blog is for direct bug reports and constructive feedback for Race2Play's Open Wheel Challenge 2008, or feel free to mail me if you wish.

Here is a link to the 1.0 zip for those that don't like executables and would rather copy the files themselves:

OWC08_v1.0.zip

I'm checking Tim's exe installer right now to make sure everything works ok and is identical to the original zip.

I'll keep this page updated with the latest info, if there is a need for any.

and check out Tim and Todd's stylin' new rTrainers

You Say Goodbye, And I Say Hello
Nov 22, 2007

You say yes, and I say no
You say stop, and I say go

Due to an impending deadline that will be approaching early next year, I needed to "act soon or forever hold my peace (piece? either one).

I haven't been riding much this year, and I'm disappointed about that. One thing led to another, then the Florida "off season riding months" were here (June-July-August, way too miserable to ride). I got in a great 2-wheeled trip over the holiday weekend at the beginning of September, put in a couple hundred miles thru north Georgia and Tennessee to see some racing and visit some friends, and that inspired me to get back in the saddle more and do some more riding when my schedule free'd up.

Now that my sched is slowly getting better (and I'm also able to do some more sim-racing again thankfully) it came down to the hard choices: a motorcycle had to go to get anothe [... more]

My easy to read and use S6 calendar
Sep 10, 2007

So as I sat and stared cross-eyed at Tim's Season 6 spreadsheet, trying to decide what I wanted to run, I wished I could look at a simple (possibly printed) calendar. I need to easily grasp events, days, & times in my simple mind.

As there was none, I created one.
It looks like this:

NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY SCHEDULE. This is only an example.

The Word document template is here:
S6 calendar template

This has random events filled in as examples, if you want a truly blank template I have one available also. But this way you can see font sizes and colors and cut/paste to your heart's desire. Every cell is textable, all lines a [... more]

6 Months And A Day
Jul 23, 2007

Yesterday was 6 months to the day I signed up here at R2P, and to say I've enjoyed myself would be an understatement of grande proportions. As I had only owned rFactor and GTR2 for a few months I didn't know what to expect (bah, who needs real people? That's why they make AI. What's the big deal?). As they say, the couple times I went online on the public servers just didn't make me want to play online. But there was a nice writeup in AutoSimSport, and while the PCC mod was old news to everyone else, it was new to me and I loved it, and I saw there was a weekly PCC race here.
So what the hell, I sign up and read all the rules. Entered the race, finished not last (actually 11th, right behind Chris Chappell I just noticed! Ha ha, still chasin' that bastid), and that was all she wrote.
Next day I paid my one year in advance Premium membership.

I've entere [... more]
